چکیده

Recent advances in neural rendering indicate immense promise for architectures that learn light transport, allowing efficient of global illumination effects once such methods are trained. The training phase these can be seen as a form pre-computation, which has long standing history Computer Graphics. In particular, Pre-computed Radiance Transfer (PRT) achieves real-time by freezing some variables the scene (geometry, materials) and encoding distribution others, interactive at runtime. Precomputed Radiance Transfer

This paper describes a method for rendering interreflections, self-induced shadows and caustics in real-time in a general low-frequency lighting environment. The method handles environment and area lighting and glossy as well as diffuse objects. The lighting environment is projected onto a lowfrequency spherical harmonic basis. Before the rendering a transfer vector (diffuse case) or a transfer...

Wavelet Basis Functions for Precomputed Radiance Transfer

Precomputed Radiance Transfer (PRT) aims at computing global illumination effects such as soft shadows and object interreflection in realtime. This is accomplished by precomputing the factors of the Rendering Equation and projecting them into a suitable basis which allows to combine them efficiently at runtime. Several basis function have been proposed for PRT. Recently, Haar wavelets have been...

Normal Mapping for Precomputed Radiance Transfer (NMPRT)

Normal mapping is a variant of bump mapping that is commonly used in computer games. It models complex surface variations by explicitly storing a surface normal in a texture map. However, it has not been used with precomputed radiance transfer (PRT), a technique for modeling an object’s response to a parameterized model of lighting, which enables interactive rendering of complex global illumina...

Practical Precomputed Radiance Transfer for Mixed Reality

Mixed Reality and its concept of virtual superimposed on real space interplay invoke such interactive experiences that promote new patterns of believability and presence for cultural heritage applications. The seamless integration of virtual cultural artifacts with ‘real lights’ or images of real scenes, is an important step towards believability and consistency in synthesized MR scenes. That s...

A Gentle Introduction to Precomputed Radiance Transfer

Realistic image synthesis is one of the most relevant subjects in computer graphics, and many algorithms have been developed to try to reproduce the visual complexity perceived in the real world. However, rendering realistic images in real time remains a challenge even with the support of modern graphics hardware. Precomputed Radiance Transfer (PRT) is a new graphics technique capable of synthe...
